Default system passwords is just about the oldest and easiest hack in the book.

Back in the day almost all landline answering machines just used 4-8 zeros as default PW and nearly no one ever changed it. Phreakers (phone hackers) would wardial for them and keep that list of those targets separate. When they needed to go long distance (outside of using a “blue box”) they’d access the answering machine and and change the message to something like “Hello?.... oh yes, sure...” and then route through it as a third party bill call.

Our side must have known this. It would have been funny, though ultimately counterproductive, if the Trump team had started playing with the vote, too. The TV commentators would have had an interesting time if numbers started going up a million, then down 2 million, etc.
