I guess if you sign a billion dollar QB for say 5 years w/ some massive chunk of guaranteed money. Who takes out the insurance? The player like Joe who might not get to realize the money of a 10 year career, or the team to cover the guaranteed money if their QB gets hurt. If I was the team, I would protect myself from cash out flow against zero return if he is out.
If they do, they might as well forget 70% of their fans and I would expect some TV Revenue as well.
