There were at least two rifles involved. The first shot was from a lower-velocity round that didn’t cause explosive damage when it hit, probably around 2000 fps.

The second head shot that caused explosive damage was from a much higher velocity round, probably around 3000 fps.

And it was a turkey-shoot. No particular skill was required.

We went to Dealy Plaza a few years ago and never realized how close to the street it was (from the snipers nest). It would have been pretty easy.......sigh
