For “public health reasons,” his inauguration will be no more than taking the oath in front of a small audience in the White House. The pomp and circumstance of parades, luncheons and balls will be cancelled for the same reasons.
The legacy media can spin this one without much difficulty, but covering up his dementia will only get more difficult from there.

I think they’ve already started working on that .... the campaign is now worrying publicly that the inauguration will turn into a giant MAGA rally (it will, actually) so due to security, COVID, & anything else they can come up with, my bet is the inauguration will be in a venue that is much smaller, private, where they can get Joe on/off stage in a hurry, & others will be doing the bulk of the speechifying.
The inauguration event itself is not important to them - if they can get Joe/Kamala sworn in, even if it’s in a broom closet, that’s all that matters ... gaining/retaining POWER.
Have it virtual due to Covid, and have some trickery to deal with Joe.

I don't think that he will be able to make it to the inauguration. When last appearing in public, he seemed to be deteriorating at a pretty fast pace, and January 20th is a long, sixty-plus days away.
