I was driving at night and was scared out of my mind and I was in a car. I can’t imaginr being on a motorcycle on that road at any time of the day.

You can’t see the roads at night. It is much easier by the light of day. FWIW, I rode Highway 1 many times at night in the fog, which usually started around Half Moon Bay and remained foggy all the way up into San Francisco, and that was during summer time IIRC.

You just don’t overdrive your headlight. At night in fog it is a bit surreal and you have to stay alert, but neither scary or hard. Good thing the deer population is sparse. That would have made the ride very scary - not knowing when Bambi was going to jump out in front of you mid-curve on a foggy night. But deer is not a problem there or in most of California for that matter.
