>>I’m still not sure why Scott Adams is worth listening to.

Because he IS a major intellect. It’s just that he has these filters over his thinking that he can’t ignore. They include his fear of dying of covid and his almost religious belief in psychedelics. Beyond his deep admiration for Trump (see the squeeing fan post on his visit to meet Trump in the oval office), basically he’s pretty liberal. Or maybe just more libertarian.

His scorecard for estimating the future IS impressive. He picked Trump to win as president. He picked Kamala Harris as Dem presidential candidate while the masses of candidates were fighting for stage space. No cigar but not bad. But he made those calls while everyone else was just milling around in confusion.

He’s got an incredibly broad work background and his win is that he’s able to cross all of these different backgrounds and merge them into a unique view. They’re qualities that required him to cull out the extraneous and focus on essentials for the future. And bringing that mentality to looking at politics is fascinating. Again, you just have to recognize his blinders and identify the parts affected by those blinders.

James Woods doesn’t have Adams’ analytical abilities. What he DOES have is a point of view consistent with my own, which makes me view him as a genius.

Much love, Mary

All that's very nice Mardie, but he failed the intellectual test when you defined him as a liberal.

To become a liberal, one must fail at some point in the thought process.

Hardly a 'major intellect'.

I predicted Trump would win and won a hundred dollar bet (still not paid off). I also predicted Kameltoe for VP. Does that make me a 'major intellect'?

That doesn't. But other things do, I'll admit.

I'm not impressed in the least by Mr. Scott Adams. The only reason anybody listens to him is cause he wrote a comic strip.

I will grant him 'clever' and 'humorous'.

:: Adams’ analytical abilities ::
Where Adams fails is his dependence on his own experience from his own worldview.
Libertarian
Californian
Drug culture
“Entertainment”

This is a very small universe and he is comfortable enough in it to dispense his opinion...based on that universe.
That some people listen only encourages him.
Hey, I like Dilbert but offices are NOT like his cartoons.

Adams lacks quality observation of people just trying to live.
As baggie would say, lessons from the university of real life.
Additionally, he needs to understand the psychological viewpoint of the Word of God.
The Scripture is also a manual on how people, both good and evil, react to each other.
But, most importantly...real interaction with real people who are just trying to stay alive.
