They dont say much about it but looking through the manuals they are depending heavily upon these NAS devices for their pooling of data from the machines.
Page .44 they really are using NAS devices to store vote results ( wonder what brand) Hope its not that Qnap
Port 80 is (most likely) by default (Apache) Web Server
