News that a Pfizer vaccine is 90% effective against COVID-19 has been heralded as a turning point in the global fight against the virus.
But while the vaccine has been bankrolled by the American pharmaceutical giant, the science itself is the work of BioNTech, a German company founded by married couple and dedicated physicians Ugur Sahin and Ozlem Tureci.
Together, they are being hailed as the brains that allowed the potentially transformative coronavirus vaccine to come about.
Scientists and entrepreneurs Professor Sahin, 55, and Dr Tureci, 53, are now among the 100 richest Germans, with the value of their company BioNTech soaring to $21bn (£16bn) in the wake of the vaccine breakthrough.
But, as children of immigrants, they came from humbler beginnings.

I’m still reluctant to accept that humans are smart enough to use genetic modification to “solve” problems. The combinations that are possible in the lab, do not mean they don’t create new problems.
Example the Wuhan Flu. That was a man made bio experiment, that turned to a weapon.
The idea that humans can patent a living organism created by genetic modification is a very frightening and dangerous concept.
Follow the money and you will find people driving things that don’t act in a human manner.
For what it is worth, the couple are Muslim. And from Turkey.
They are humble from the reports in the press and very wealthy.
I am not going to try to “judge” them, just saying.

Amazing how the vaccine is 90% effective since over 90% already recover from the big bad Covid-19 today.
Pfizer’s animal vaccine spinoff Zoetis just recently opened up another facility in CHYna.
And the spokesman for Pfizer on tv last night said it was a win for ‘science’. Unfortunately when a scientific company has to back up what they’ve done with the word ‘science’, immediately I think left wing politics are heavily involved.
