Is Biden already choosing his cabinet? Romney SOS, Hillary AG
FreeRepublic ^ | Nov. 8, 2020 | None

From the way Mitt Romney is fawning over Joe Biden and pandering to the media, it seems that he is angling for a position in the Biden Administration, Secretary of State, perhaps.

Is Biden contemplating giving Mitt a position in his cabinet to demonstrate his magnanimous penchant for "reaching across the aisle" and working with his opponents?

The mask is off. Romney is no opponent of Biden. He's probably a major supporter.

What will he get from it in return? They'll use him when it's convenient and throw him under the bus whenever they get the chance. Forever clueless Mitt will never learn.

Hillary has a lot more to offer Joe Biden than Romney does, and she knows how to play corruption game to get what she wants.

As Attorney General, she can say to Biden: "I'll cover up your crimes and you'll cover up mine. Capiche?"

Hopefully, we will never have to see what a Biden cabinet looks like.

[Romney will do what he’s told.]

An independently wealthy man like him will do whatever he wants. Much like Exxon’s former CEO, who filled the SOS seat for a while under Trump. For a President, it’s a little dangerous to appoint men who are accomplished in their own right (unless they are long-time friends). They might not follow orders.

Biden is filling no seats.

He will be filling his drawers.

Agreed. Romney is a political slime ball. He’s an empty suit that will take any position that furthers his capital.

There’s nothing in it for Biden to name Romney SOS. He’ll be replaced by a bona fide Conservative. Right now with Romney in the Senate, there’s a chance that the Democrats could cut a deal with him.

[Obama had at least one Republican in his cabinet, Robert Gates.

The dems like to use Republicans to help make them look good.

David Gergen was called in to help Hillary make Bill look more “presidential” back in 1993. ]

Both of these men needed their government salaries. Romney has a personal fortune estimated to be in the hundreds of millions.

Actually, that would be good. UT would get to pick a real Republican to replace him.

Biteme would be a fool to do this. He would lose a sure swing vote in a nearly tied senate, and have an extra R senator to deal with.

I figure Hillary will be VP when Biden dies, resigns, or is removed. That way she’ll be prime for 2024.

Mitt Romney -D(ick) UT always wanted to be SoS...instead of a PoS.

Hildabeast as Attorney General? That’s about the equivalent

OK, some big ifs here.

But IF Biden ultimately prevails and

IF Biden appoints Romney Secretary of State,

THEN I welcome it since he will be gone from the Senate and Romney would surely be middle of anyone else Biden might appoint.

A four year gig will bag him an extra 200K a year for life, along with his Senate salary. It’a all about the money. These people, Hillary, Mitt, and others serve only for the money

“Romney is not clueless at all.”

He wants to make money the same way Hillary did as SOS.

I think he wants to be a PoS too, since he is so good at it.

I can see him appointing a couple sitting rhino senators from states with Dem governors. Then the gov appoints a dem to replace them and flip the senate.
