Yes, have to be kept 2 yrs or around there, little uncertainty in what I read/heard, but they have to be kept for a specific time and then shredded. Neither was done. Destruction of evidence, another crime.
Destroying the ballots, even in an ordinary, uncontested election, is itself a crime. Don’t have time to track down where someone posted the statute with chapter and verse.
