Thanks for the update. We have paper ballots that we feed into the machine too. Last time I had trouble with the feed. This time it was all ok.
We have to show id. and sign-electronic used to be paper. They required you to use sanitizer before entering and they clean the pens with disinfectant wipe before handing it to you, and then you turn the pen in on the way out. No masks required. Mostly bare faces behind plexiglass.
We had paper ballots, too. We were in and out of there in about an hour, beats 2016 when we were in line for two hours before voting!
Everyone had to wear masks inside the building, and outside over half were wearing masks. Seemed a shame on such a beautiful fall day. There were four of us old people in line together, not wearing masks and having a great time chatting, but social distanced, of course.
Hand sanitizer if you wanted it, no plexiglass anywhere, you kept the pen/stylus you used for voting.
One odd thing was that occasionally there would be an announcement “Alright everybody, Listen up! We have another first time voter!” We’d all clap and cheer, and the poor voter (usually a young kid) would be standing there, cheeks burning. Don’t know who thought that was a good idea.
