“...and the worms ate into his brain...”

Another brick in the Pink Floyd slide...

My memory is kinda sketchy on this, but I seem to remember an episode of the Twilight Zone titled something like "ear worm."

It was about a specific worm that would eat straight through a brain if it was placed in a person's ear. The story line ended with one individual surviving it only to be told the worm had lain eggs while eating it's way through.

Makes for a good Halloween tale, a trifle late.

ps. Bagster I really enjoyed the Gretta vs Kelly's Hero's meme.

It was a Night Gallery episode, "The Caterpillar" with Laurence Harvey. Still gives me the shudders, just thinking about it (thanks a lot!). Can't find the ep on YT.

Ok, I went and looked it up. The correction is as follows:

'Night Gallery,' which was another Rod Serling series, had the episode titled "The Caterpillar." It is about a brain eating 'Earwig.' This Episode has been touted as possibly the Greatest Horror TV show ever created.

Oh my, Kalam. I remember that episode because it gave me nightmares off and on for a few months. For years I was afraid to fall asleep on a beach or outdoors in case an insect did that to me. I hope they don’t start again. I don’t expect they will because I have bigger terrors to disturb my sleep at the moment and my own (Canadian) government is causing them.
