My memory is kinda sketchy on this, but I seem to remember an episode of the Twilight Zone titled something like "ear worm." It was about a specific worm that would eat straight through a brain if it was placed in a person's ear. The story line ended with one individual surviving it only to be told the worm had lain eggs while eating it's way through. Makes for a good Halloween tale, a trifle late.
It was a Night Gallery episode, "The Caterpillar" with Laurence Harvey. Still gives me the shudders, just thinking about it (thanks a lot!). Can't find the ep on YT.
