WHY? Why do they hate him so intensely?
I've never seen an adequate answer to that question.
“WHY? Why do they hate him so intensely?”
First, because they believe he is completely unqualified to have power over them. He’s like the characters Rodney Dangerfield played in “Back to School” and “Caddy Shack”, a rich but uncouth guy who accidentally comes to have power over the country club or college where he clearly does not belong. He sticks out like a sore thumb, he’s “not our kind”, and it drives a lot of people crazy. The presidency and the power it represents is “sacred” to those who worship power (even though they mostly see themselves as atheists), and Trump defiles that sacred thing. Sort of like a porn-star somehow getting elected Pope.
Second, because most people operate on the superstitious belief that he President controls and is responsible for what happens (even when he doesn’t really control something, like the way a virus behaves). If you think things are going well, you love the President as if he had given you the good things that you see happening. If you think there are massive problems and things are going over a cliff, then you hate the guy who you see as destroying your world. We, who support the President, see things as going pretty well and just needing some improvements, which we hope/expect our guy will provide. If you see yourself living in a country that never was all that great and rapidly getting worse, you fear/expect that this President-from-hell will make the damage so much worse by his incompetence and his evil nature.

The instigators of the hate have been siphoning off billions and perhaps trillions from lucrative, government-coercion-backed deals around the globe for generations. Not just US government deals, but all those phony UN and other international concords and pacts America was roped into in order to provide pipelines of money and power to a very few. POTUS exposed that.
Then he went further and removed their rice bowls by making it impossible for them to continue to conduct these profitable deals without scrutiny. All sorts of arrests and asset confiscations overseas of people engaged in corruption aimed at US government contracts and funds, for example, was the beginning of the roll-up of the chains of theft. That was bad enough, but then, POTUS made America energy independent while bringing manufacturing back home. He not only did not start phony wars to provide lootable assets, he brought troops home and negotiated peace in the areas of the world providing the most easily stolen resources.
I call it ‘breaking the rice bowls and then taking away all the rice.”
As for the punters who never see a dime of the graft, they are simply inculcated via media and suppression of the truth by social media. They have no idea they have been weaponized as a public pressure group in order to keep the elite comfortable with their multiple streams of grifted income, much of it tax-free.
Everyone who has had their savings destroyed by the zer0 years and then had their businesses closed by prog Governors, hates these tyrants right back. Not to mention the current cancellations of conservatives, denial of free speech and physical attacks on individuals and American cities. So, we know exactly what such anger feels like. Now tune into that and multiply it by 1000.
That’s how much they hate POTUS and they blame everyone of us who supports him.
