he liberal justices dissented as the Supreme Court ruled against extending Wisconsins deadline to count mailed-in ballots received after Election Day.
Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan slammed the courts decision not to extend the deadline to receive mail-in ballots in Wisconsin and said it would disenfranchise voters in a pandemic.
In a Monday ruling, the Supreme Court sided with Republicans in its decision to block Wisconsin from counting mail-in ballots that are received after Election Day, Nov. 3.
The Courts decision will disenfranchise large numbers of responsible voters in the midst of hazardous pandemic conditions, Kagan wrote in her dissent, joined by liberal justices Stephen Breyer and Sonia Sotomayor.
The justices were split 5-3, with the conservative majority negating a lower courts ruling that had ordered mailed ballots to be counted if postmarked before Nov. 3 and received up to six days after Election Day, as they had been during the states primary.
In her dissent, Kagan noted that the COVID19 pandemic has turned in-person voting (with its often-long lines, touch screens, and enclosed booths) into a health risk. (snip)
As the COVID pandemic rages, the Court has failed to adequately protect the Nations voters, Kagan wrote.

This ‘wise’ Latina is going to use the words ‘I Dissent’ a lot in the coming years’
Man, if we only new about this pandemic we could have planned ahead...
How hard is it to vote? Really?
that’s Sotomayor, but your point remains.
Stickin’-ina-dat we-gots-virtue-and-you-ain’t wedge.
You want to make policy, Elena, quit the Court and run for legislator.
Get your a** to a drop box. There’s one in every Town.
Did Kagan ban shoppers at Walmart?
Wrong Supreme. This is the one that never judged a case until she got on the Supreme Court (you know, “total amateur” like Amy is, apparently).
She is a liar.
Booths in every state are cleaned after every use.
Libtard Liar she is.
Yeah? I didnt know that was the Supreme Courts responsibility.
“it would disenfranchise voters in a pandemic”

Yeah, because people have only had over half a year to plan their voting options.
Ever notice how the leftists on SCOTUS always vote in lockstep and nobody ever questions the Constitutionality of their decisions. It’s just total, blind leftism. Nobody in the media ever bats an eye, it’s always controversial if an originalist rules correctly. Especially when it’s 5-4 and the media screams “bitterly divided.”
I was given a new Q Tip to use on the touch screen. I was very impressed with the process here in Texas.
Now that my least favorite Judge on the Supreme Court has died, political dirtbag Kagan who refused to recuse herself on the Obamacare decision although she was in charge of defending it as US Solicitor General is my new least favorite
Thanks for the correction.
Maybe it is because I’m so old and my memory may be faulty, but what has a “pandemic” got to do with an “election”?
Where does it say that SCOTUS members are required to fight for “social justice”?
Where, in the former Constitution, do the words “pandemic” and “social justice” appear?
