A Biden 2035

January 1, 2035

The USA has kept its promise under its Paris climate pact renewal shepherded though a reluctant Senate by Majority Leader Schumer in 2021 after an angry rebuke of about a dozen Democratic holdouts by President Biden, who was at his dogmatic best, pure emotion untempered by in-depth thought.

The once great American oil companies such as Exxon-Mobil and Chevron no longer exist.

America no longer has a petrochemical industry. This has created drug shortages in past years as needed chemicals were not available, but buying and stockpiling Chinese chemicals paid for by jewelry extracted from Americans needing preexisting condition waivers has made drug dearth deaths due to chemical feedstock shortages rare.

Over a trillion dollars of hydrocarbon industry debt has been wiped out. No tax loss carry forwards were allowed after former President Trump's tax returns were published in the Congressional Record.

Oil and gas pipeline investors have seen tens of billions in high-yield holdings made worthless. Widows gather in Washington each spring to clamor for compensation. None will be paid since the widows will mostly be dead in a few years.

Former coal miners are now rare in in their West Virginia ghost towns.

Pick-up truck production dropped after President Harris assumed office. UAW members in Michigan and elsewhere had no choice but to accept job, wage and medical benefit cuts for about a decade as once profitable pick-up truck production nearly vanished.

There remains much customer dissatisfaction over the much smaller mainly Mexican-made Hombre, Trabajador and Burro electric pick-ups that contractors have no choice but to use since gasoline and diesel fuel are no longer available in the USA. However, in the past year there has been increased work and actual Christmas joy for some senior US UAW members employed in making key parts.

Making reliable and once valuable gasoline and diesel fuel pick-up trucks obsolete has made millions of their owners very angry. Members of Congress have had to craft special form letters stating that the Biden era Paris climate pact renewal left them no choice. The Compensatory Federal Value Added Tax Discount for electric pick-up trucks ended Election Day 2034.

The RV companies of the Midwest saw their sales utterly collapse after the Biden era renewal of the Paris climate pact. Their factories are often used for high school football fields in the winter. The lost RV industry jobs in the Midwest have generally not been replaced.

General Electric, which once filled the streets of Schenectady, NY with rush hour unionized employees, no longer makes steam turbines for electrical generation. GE and its remaining unionized employees await orders from airplane makers having unending problems with hydrogen fuel and exploding aircraft.

New electric grids now serve over 50% of the American population.

Northern states like Michigan and those in the Northeast sometimes see substantial supply reductions imposed by solar electricity source states. This has no effect on national industrial production, as companies have carefully avoided placing factories in these states.

Typically, about 45% of the working population can only charge their cars at work. Smart meters in predominately Republican areas carefully ration out enough electricity to allow the workers to get to and from their jobs.

To maintain a significant level of heating and air conditioning, those not on the replacement electrical grids sometimes are able to swap cars to utilize the car batteries to provide more electric power to their homes, which is now legal.

In urban areas, theft of aluminum electrical lines remains a big problem.

After the dollar collapse of the Biden administration, the Russian Federation supplies aluminum for the electrical grids in exchange for gold from Fort Knox.

Many people like Karen Green truly love their new electrical cars.

Others like Donna Bush are put off by the price of used electrical cars. A used 2027 model with a remanufactured battery would cost one year of her after-tax income. The electric streetcar runs near her apartment, but the transfer electric streetcar doesn't run into the office park where she works.

Many Texans now call their state 'Taxes'. With the elimination of hydrocarbon revenues, the State of Texas has had to fund its governments by high taxes. A state personal income tax has been in effect since President Harris' first full term. It has been raised twice and finally made progressive after massive street protests by angry naturalized citizens not used to paying directly for government services.

Dairy farmers and ranchers now have to bid for and buy methane emission permits. Federal tax credits remain available for the construction of methane gathering barns and the purchase of genetically improved bovines under patent.

All farms and ranches must use equipment powered by electricity, corn ethanol or bovine methane.

Used cooking oil is reserved for US military use.

Español had been made the official state language of most southwestern states, including Arizona and Nevada. Teachers and other civil servants such as police officers not fluent in español have been released from the public payrolls in each of those states. All laws, regulations and legal documents must be written in español in four states. Pension plans have been modified to prevent dire want among the now unneeded personnel. Medicaid eligibility entitlements have now been granted to all such discharged persons.

Hispanic mayors and majority Hispanic city councils now rule all large cities except New Orleans.

All Washington, DC monuments now honor famous modern Democratic leaders. The Obama, Biden and Clinton monuments are the most famous.

The Speaker of the House has taken over the day-to-day cultural guardianship of the former Bezos mansion, which was received in lieu of an equivalent amount of annual federal wealth tax a few years ago.

A few Republicans have been reelected to the House of Representatives. They will each be allowed to speak for 10 minutes each year on the floor and allowed to buy Grade A food at the Congressional Commissary.
