Well, I went in person last week. We use the Diebold voting machines instead of paper/scanner. But that means you have to touch it. Our election commission had a good system going. They gave you a pen to sign your paper (didn’t give it back-it was yours) and a popsicle stick to use to push the buttons on the machine (also yours to keep). They did have a trash can to throw away the stick after if you wanted.
They wouldn’t let you advance to the next area (check-in, then machine) until it was clear. The person who was assigned to the machine was disinfecting it between uses. I was in line and out the door in less time than a grocery trip.
We used to use Diebold machines. We’ve gone to the “connect the arrow, feed into machine thing. I don’t like them as well.
