I suppose it is nice to detect actual water but it is not a surprise. What is the most common element in the universe? Hydrogen. What is the second most common element in the universe? Helium. Also first and second on the periodic table. What is the third most common element in the universe? Oxygen! Followed by carbon. Eight and sixth on the periodic table, respectively. That makes water, methane and carbon dioxide the most probably abundant compounds in the universe.
