I don’t think you followed my question. If no light is bouncing off the ice (due to it’s in the shadow of a crater) then HOW do you get the wavelength of light that struck the ice?

Duh.

It’s like tying to take a picture in a completely dark room. Photons have to strike the object if you want an image!

The only way around this is hit it with a laser, but that won’t work due to the freq issue....so you would have to have ONE BIG powerful white light on the satellite - which aint happening neither....

Does not pass the smell test - sounds like they wanted the result.....
