One gigantic boogey man for the Ds is *could*. What *could* happen if ACB is confirmed. They are projecting every scary (to them) possible scenario onto what they think *could* happen.
News flash to the Ds: A meteorite *could* hit the earth and wipe out life as we know it. That doesn’t mean we base all of our decisions on that.
The other thing that irks me is their false / selective use of precedent. They pick out the parts they find useful and ignore the rest. The main one being the “precedent” of not confirming a SCOTUS justice during an election year. My “selective precedent” is that Garland was not confirmed in an election year WHEN THE PRESIDENT AND SENATE WERE IN OPPOSING PARTIES.
