You should vote early in person or else you might go in to vote on election day and find out someone else voted for you.
You can find out your status in NC before and after you vote.

If you haven't voted, check on-line registration and vote history & make sure no one has voted in your place.

There should be a site in each state to check whether you are listed as voting already.
Vote History is also important. It should be available after voting.
It is under “your absentee ballot” for early voting in person. after voter search in NC.
I've seen person rejected because someone voted in their place.

What can you do about it?
