RATS are definitely lowlife scum, but to be fair, I remember it was Nixon who abandoned South VN.
When our troops pulled out we promised to supply SVN with ammunition and other things. The RATs cut off the supplies which prompted the North to invade.

Nixon wanted a bigger role for the South Vietnamese in defending their country. It was congress that pulled the plug for the funding of both u.s. and South Vietnamese resistance. The democratic controlled congress really did not care what happened at that point.
