That’s HUGE ... a freebie but huge nonetheless and ensures Pence is only needed to serve as President of the Senate without casting a deciding vote. 52-48.
She can add, “I heard nothing in the committee debate prior to approving her that would provide grounds to vote against her”, since the dems didn’t show up to the hearing. Hehehe.
This is big, it means it’s a done deal, and Murkowski knows it’s safer to vote yes than piss off Alaska voters and a President who is about to win reelection. It will also signal Manchin and a few others that it’s ok to pretend to be moderate. The vote will probably be 55 or more for.
