Good morning, ArGee.
To those of you interested (or not) in the mundane happenings of my life, I packed a storage tub (always reserved for soft items such as linens) and rearranged two more to leave room for more stuff and was able to pack the blanket trunk.
It now holds all items for the sofa/futon: plastic mattress cover, mattress pad (not heated) a set of flannel sheets, a light blanket and a medium blanket and two pillows. I think there is room for one more light blanket. At any rate, I’m very happy with it!
So that’s the end of the “work” for the day...
Later, I’ll go to Walgreen’s and get some pills, then to the library to drop of some DVDs and pick up a couple more. I won’t be watching as many as I have done. Since I’m beginning to feel a little better, I may get some energy back, but I certainly don’t want to push it. Seven months is a long time to relapse.

“Jennifer” in this book gave up watermelon for Lent, even though it was still snowy ... but it turned out her father had a greenhouse and was growing watermelons.
This took place a good 10+ years before the book, so maybe word got around. ;o]
Maybe it was a folk custom that the author heard of.
Last year when I was at Mom’s at the beginning of Lent, we were at dinner with five or six of her friends, and Murray, who is 102, said, “I’m giving up sex! What about you?” All the old ladies were widows and said, “What a good idea!”
Got any 4’s?
I gave up sex for lack of interest, not necessarily coinciding with Lent.
For someone who was going to lie low today, I’ve managed to pack or re-pack four containers. Hooray for our side!
I went through some stuff trying to determine what I had in the way of jewelry supplies and it amounts mostly to those items that can be made using twine. (Shells, wooden beads, ceramic beads and large stones.) One thing I don’t have is a small drill, which would come in enormously handy.
I do like tying knots in the appropriate places and once made an 8’ tall Christmas tree in macrame’. Another thing that is gone for good along with the Nativity that I had made to display inside it. Lit from inside and above by a blue light in a 3# coffee can. I have a photo of it somewhere.
I’m glad you’ve made progress, but don’t overdo it!
Also, I got the cutest frog card the other day. I love getting mail that isn’t a bill.
I promise not to overdo it. After yesterday...
Last night was a fairly good night, and could have slept longer but felt the need to get up. I had no plan for doing any work, but I wanted to get the extra pillows out of my way and in order to do that, I had to play with the other items that belong in the trunk. I have another piece of fleece that I want to tie off and make a cover for the futon, but that can wait.
And then I saw some throws that were taking up shelf space, and the rest is history.
I’m glad you like the frog card. I have another I want to try out on someone, and since it would appear you’re the only one who reads my missives, you get to receive the best cards!
I just realized how tired I am. Not surprising after the last two days, but I have to get those two things taken care of. Then, hopefully, I can spend tomorrow doing not much of anything. Lying around isn’t making this move happen, though.
You have all the accomplishments!
I need to do some soil questions for one of the high school boys who doesn’t have internet at the moment. Shouldn’t take long: I had Vlad go through the pages and mark the information that’s most likely to be on a test.
Well, I’m back, but I forgot that I had shut the windows on this thing. I’ve had lunch, but it isn’t want I really wanted. I’m thinking of buying some Lunchables, but they aren’t too nourishing, if my memory serves.
I have more polished stones than I thought I had, some of which will make very nice pendants, but I don’t have the right tools, so I was pricing rotary tools. There was also a metal stamping jewelry kit that I drooled over... They don’t cost much but I have to be super careful, now, because the last of my stimulus went for groceries, some miscellaneous things and the doctor’s appointment.
Anyway, the macrame’ jewelry should be fun to play with, if I ever get situated. I don’t want to start it now, for sure. However, now I want to make a trip to Walmart! Arghh! ;o]
I’m going to have a nap and then go to Walmart later. I can pick up the prescription refill for my ankle pills, which will go in the cupboard to use “as needed.”
I made James do the soil questions as a consequence for picking Shannon up. Annoying brother.
I have a prescription for a new pain killer but I’m going to wait until morning before I start it. I’m not excited about it to begin with, but it is what it is.
I’m cold, so I’m going to bed. See all y’all in the morning. Or maybe later tonight, depending on how I sleep. :o|
Sounds like a productive day. Now for a truck to put them in, and a reason to drive the truck away.
Although I don’t suppose you need any help with antici ...
antici ...
antici ...
antici ...
pation.
I hope you sleep well all night!
James are mowing the lawn.
No problem with any of the suggestions. I just have to finish what I started.
Well, I got almost an hour before the doorbell rang. Now I’m going to go chew some arnica and try to go back to sleep. Unngh.
What would I do without the morning floof and the FRiend that posts them?
Good morning.
I slept in, surprise-surprise (not) and took my shower, and will get busy in a few minutes and write to Charlie.
I will have to go to the USPS this morning and pay for a new lock so I can get whatever mail is put in there besides that which Adam does. Kind man that he is, if I have regular mail in envelopes in addition to packages, he will bring it all to my door. And to think, this all started because I thanked him for delivering packages in the first place, when I first moved in. Evidently, politeness is a dying or lost art.
This means I’ll also have to buy a new key chain, and I can’t do that until Tuesday, when I go to Wally’s.
It’s supposed to be in the upper 70s today, and over 80 by Monday, but it won’t last. It’s too early in the year. I see you’re having freeze warnings. Poor you!
It is cold here this morning, but it didn’t freeze. The sky is cloudless, and we will have agreeable sunbeams later. We might go to the Botanical Garden tomorrow. It depends on whether we think the temperature will make it to the mid-60s.
I hope it works out for your lock and key!
Also, if you see any more Zion National Park sweatshirts, could you get one in Extra Large? Sally would like one. I’ll cover the cost plus postage if you find it!
Good morning. Happy Friday. Happy Good Friday.
Well, we went ALMOST 4 months without the puppy having a seizure. But today she broke the streak.
We started mixing in adult food with her puppy chow a couple of days ago, so we need to look into what that’s made with. Or, this is just life and we can be glad it’s not every 12 days.
I’m very sorry about the dog’s seizure. Maybe the next streak will be six or eight months!
