It was a FIASCO but her Uncle bagged one late the LAST day out.
The party had split up, and if they’d have stuck with him, EVERYONE could have filled their tag; he came into a herd of 500 coming out to feed in the evening twilight.
Hardest part turned out to be getting it butchered; nobody down around SE Utah of any decent repute; he ended up driving all the way Hell-n-gone up to Duchesne where he knew of a butcher, and that guy did it for just $0.65/lb.
He and his wife and son will be up here this weekend, to bring Valorie her portion of the elk.

I just took the prescription for colonoscopy prep to the pharmacy. I have to start restricting food on Thursday, and the “procedure” is Monday morning. Unnngh.
It was warm this afternoon.

Wow, that sounds harsh. I thought you just had to ingest clear liquids for a day or two.
I know I’ve been lacking in appearing lately.
Life has not been cooperating.
The clear liquids thing is the last day (Sunday). Other stuff has to be cut before that.
O, JOY.
I couldn’t finish that junk; I chugged as much as I could without my body just slamming the whole process into Reverse, and there was no getting any more in. Flavor packets do next to nothing.
But, two things I did that helped me greatly: I went on a water-only fast a day before I had to begin the prep. So, I didn’t have a whole gut full of food to clear out. It still was a drag, but maybe less of one that it would have otherwise been.
I wasn’t hunting this time, sadly, but when I did hunt it was for elk.
That’s very funny! When I was a kid, if I misplaced my glasses, I needed them to look for my glasses. Now, however, I have lenses in my eyes.
Yes, she did tell me of the misadventures with the vehicles and the weather, but I never heard if anyone had gotten anything. I’m glad it wasn’t a total loss, and it was fun to meet up with her.
Duschene is a long way from here! Utah County (where I grew up) is full of butchers who do venison. Cold storage lockers, too!

I can’t do that. I have meds to take four times a day and I have to eat something when I take them.
So I avoid colonoscopies.

The night was messed up to say the least, and I think I’ll never catch up on my sleep and stop feeling so tired.
My book boxes will be here today, and it will give me an idea on whether I should order ten more or not. Even with shipping they’re half the price of Home Depot without shipping! Not to mention I’ll get my money back when I unpack them.

I have to clean some things for the donation pile today, and will try to get that done this morning before anything else. I’m still trying to eliminate as much packing as possible and take only the essentials. Hopefully, my morning will be productive, in spite of my tired.
I hope it goes well this morning. There’s a rumor it will be sunny and warm today, which is far better than the alternative. The Overnight People left windows open downstairs, so I’m cold.
