Well THAT stinks.

I’m guessing it’s still putting around but sounds horrible?

Well, the Favorite Son will already be lining up a vehicle for me, I’m sure, so I won’t worry about whether AR has bus service, at least until such time as I can no longer drive. And I figure that’s at least another 10-15 years down the road.

I have a nice thick volume of Shakespeare’s works, and one day, when I’ve done all the transcribing of histories, and scanning of photos, I’ll sit down with that on my lap and see if I can read the smaller print. Once I get my right eye lased, of course!

It actually sounds like an old car, now. It ran very quietly for a long time, and then I moved here and the mileage began to drop and I took it in to the shop. I was fortunate enough to find a mechanic who not only knew what he was doing with it, but was pleasant and also kind enough to let me make payments for a few of the more expensive repairs, like the heater core and new tires.

It stinks, now, but it’s still driveable, and I found a way home from Walmart that avoids all but one smaller hill, so this is good. It will get me where I need to go for now.

I will miss it, because it’s been reliable and also because it was given to me by a late FReeper. But I have photos of it, so I’m good! (Some photos are still on my FB account, I think!)

The rain is coming down steadily, now, and I think, it means some thick snow for the mountain. I should probably go put the cover on the windshield, but I doubt I’ll be going anywhere tomorrow. Sunday will be about the same as today, maybe. Tomorrow is anyone’s guess, but the barometer is dropping and Admiral Fitz is forming some beautiful crystals. Bad weather. And my back is killing me. Unngh.

Ugggh. I spent some time on the treadmill - time to get in shape for hiking - reading a book about John Talbot, 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, a key military leader in the Hundred Years’ War. You’re probably his relative.

Then I was going to take a shower, but the bathroom was occupied, so I do it after dropping James and Vlad off.

Yes, I probably am related but I don’t think I’ll inherit anything any time soon. ;o]

I think it’s time I took myself off to bed, since I’m getting the wobblies.

I love looking at beautiful homes and the stuning architecture, and lately, they’ve been showing up on my Facebook feed. Some are just too gorgeous to keep to myself, so I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Kitteh looks comfy no matter where he is.

Good morning.

I slept in. I would probably still be asleep but I got cold (mattress pad had shut off) and then I became aware of the pain, so I had to stagger out of bed. Unngh.

I hate when I sleep in. Especially when I’m on the tea cycle because it throws everything off.

Anyway, I’m here. It’s colder in your neck of the woods than it is where my Favorite Daughter lives at the foot of the Rockies! Stay warm today, please!

So big, so much cleaning ...

My brother’s first wife was from Macon, GA.

Good morning. I think the cat is on a lap. I try to keep people out of the kitteh pictures, but I let that one slide because it wasn’t clear.

Birds are chirping, sun is coming up, and it is cold. I have the pork in the crockpot for Vlad’s birthday dinner. I need to get the rolls out of the freezer, though, and later, we’ll pick up macaroni salad. Pat starts back at work today.

Yes, I believe you’re right about the cat! Could be the back of a sofa, but then, denim.

Pork in the crockpot sounds good. Maybe I’ll make some beef and barley soup today. And I need to make some refrigerator rolls, too. Just because I can make cinnamon rolls as well.

So that’s what I’ll do. The sky is cloudy here, but no more rain since yesterday. I replaced the swamp cooler vent cover, but I think I’ll have to use duct tape on it. The expensive packing tape doesn’t hold nearly as well as the cheap stuff!

Yes, but with a home that size, you’d have a staff of thousands to clean, wouldn’t you? ;o]

The success or failure of tape is one of life’s mysteries. We have the hardest time keeping the calendar pages on the dining room wall, no matter what kind of tape we use.

I suppose you’d have cleaners, but one of the lesser-known facts about historic buildings is that, before electric light, they couldn’t see the dirt the way we do!
