Any time a person acted badly in any Tavern / Bar that I was in...That person was 86d (could not go in...or charged with Trespass)

In our area such a person was “barred” as in banned from the premises - not allowed in.
“Any time a person acted badly in any Tavern / Bar that I was in...That person was 86d (could not go in...or charged with Trespass)”
That general concept has become the most used definition of “86”.
It is also said that the saying is a shortened version of the original, claimed to be: “80 miles out of town, 6 feet deep.” I don’t know about that.
