There’s something that seems to be escaping some people.

Evidence of crimes is not made public if cases are still being investigated or with grand suries happening. The fact this is all exploding now indicates that the investigation is complete. What happens after investigations are complete?

Indictments and arrests.

There is obviously enough evidence of crimes for indictments and arrests, just from what we’ve heard.

If the FBI were taking the hard drive seriously, they would not have announced that they’re investigating the contents to be part of a “Russian disinformation campaign,” would they?

Neither should such an investigation take ten months.

Finally, the fact that they said anything at all means there is no ongoing investigation regarding the hard drive because, as you rightly pointed out, if there were, they would not have said anything at all.
