Interestingly the median mortality age for all causes in the US in 2018 was around 78 years old. The median mortality age from covid complications can be argued to be right at that same level.

I think the median mortality age for covid in the USA was 62. For other developed countries it was in the 70s.

The reasons were the higher levels of obesity with its complications of diabetes and other accompanying weaknesses.

I know of 90 year olds who survived covid, and the common factor was that they were slim, with no diabetes or high blood pressure
