Pence could have praised Comma-La on her decisive attacks on Slow-Joe during the primaries where she didn't garner any delegates. She landed pretty heavy blows on Joe (pun intended) regarding Joe's racist and segregationist behaviors and history.

Joe was dragged out of the bottom of the Dem-reject heap by Soetoro to become the Veep right after Beau Biden 'took are of' Larry Sinclair.

In a similar way, Joe dragged Comma-La from the Dem reject pile to make her the Veep nominee, and heir apparent after Joe's mind finally goes into vapor lock. She would become Prez even after her party kicked her out of their own primaries.
