A Nevada judge approved an $800 million settlement on Wednesday between MGM Resorts International and its insurers and the families of the victims of a deadly mass shooting at a country music festival in Las Vegas in Oct. 2017.
Under the settlements terms, MGM Resorts will make payouts to more than 4,400 relatives and victims of the shooting. The judges decision finalizes an agreement that was announced earlier this month.

I bring my hunting rifles into large, hotel chain, rooms. I get my room discounted for hunting season.
There is more to this clown who shot those folks than being just a screw loose. There is left wing conspiracy written all over this or Ill eat my tin foil hat.
There sure are. I read somewhere, (and that report could be incorrect), that of the 850 wounded/injured, not one later died of his/her wounds. Figure the odds on that. (If it was 25 to 50 I might see it, but 850?). Or maybe I’m missing something here?
“What if MGM and their insurers dont have enough money and coverage to pay those awards?”
If they didn’t have a way to pay, they couldn’t agree to pay that amount. From the sound of it, this is a negotiated settlement, not an award.
Shooters girlfriend was former FBI employee.
The TOTALLY CORRUPT FBI couldn’t or wouldn’t figure out why this killer killed......hmmmmm....so the MGM had to PAY!
FBI knew what this was about five minutes after they got his phone and bank records, laptop, and search history. If they didnt know before it happened.
We are the only ones in the dark.
This is one of those cases were I am not sure I know what all was going on but I do know that what we were told was NOT it.
Also I kind of feel bad for the mgm conglomerate because Im not sure there was actual negligence on their part. Leaving clients alone in hotels is actually part of their business. There was probably no discrete insurance coverage for terrorists hijacking your airplanes and flying them into buildings for airline cos last century either.
I never saw video of weapons being brought up to the room. If they were openly carried, yes, that would be negligence.
Depends on whether the event promoter or MGM was responsible for security at the event. Probably both bore joint responsibility. Lawyers go where the money is.
As for the “conspiracy”, that requires conspirators. Who were they? No conspirators, no conspiracy.

Oh I am convinced there is far more to this story than we the people have been given by the masters. There was an attempted assassination of a Saudi Prince during the episode. I strongly suspect the entire massavre was part of the plan to divert attention from the assassination attempt.
The CIA needs to pay up
Hotel doesn’t owe them a dime. Filthy system.
This is one of those cases were I am not sure I know what all was going on but I do know that what we were told was NOT it. .....You, my FRiend are correct.
You ever hear of Iran?
Yes, another shakedown benefitting attorneys.
Sad situation. I knew one of the victims.
Were at the 3 year anniversary of the event and we still dont know the shooters motive. Probably never will. Which stinks.
This a.m. I saw a thread with a link on an old Redditt thing about a complicated Saudi/Mandalay Bay/Weapons trafficing thing. It was a few years ago, but really interesting. Anybody else see it?
