hoosier, what are you going to have done with your teeth? I had to have two more molars pulled so now I have none. I can either have posts or a partial. Problem with posts is I have lots of bone lose so even though the dentist said he could do it I am afraid they wouldn’t hold and he said it would be $14,000 for 4. In order for me to get a partial they would need to cut out bone growth that is growing out under my tongue called (Torus mandibularis)in order for a partial to fit on the bottom, and he said the partial would be $8,000. It is the pits having gotten old.
Thirty plus years ago I lost nine teeth when my X hit me (the last time he got the chance). Others were cracked. So dentures were the only option.
Because my dentures were in the house when it burned I’ve been gummying it. A former student is now my dentist. I went to him to start the process of getting new. He sent me to IU Dental School. They opened on the 13th — on the 14tjh at 9;00 I got a call scheduling an appointment. Don’t know what my former student wrote in his letter of recommendation but whatever it was the head of the school placed me at the top of a long list. I tear up every time I tell the story. I am getting implants upper (free) and lower which would cost about the same as good dentures. I’ve said so often I am truly surrounded by the loving body of Christ!
