Both great songs
R. B. Greaves
Take a Letter, Maria
“Sweet” wasn’t a one-hit wonder. They also had “Ballroom Blitz” and “Fox On The Run.”
“Also did Billy Dont Be A hero.
Two hit wonders.
:D”
I didn’t know that.
The U.S. Hit was by Bo Donaldson and the Heywwods.
I looked it up thanks to you. I’d never known Paper Lace recorded Billy Don’t Be a Hero.
Paper Lace’s Billy did chart in the U.S., but only at 96, which doesn’t count for one hit wonder status.
Bo Donaldson’s hit number one.
One Fine Morning - Lighthouse
Signs - Five Man Electrical Band
“Dancing in the MoonlightKing Harvest”
Yeah, that’s a good call.
You must be a Doctor Demento fan.
I listened before transistor radio. I am old. Very old.
Me and Mrs. Jones - Billy Paul
Also, a dark version of Eurhythmics Sweet Dreams
Was “The Thrill is Gone” B.B. King’s only “hit”?
“Theres a reason these songs/groups are one hit wonders...”
And a reason they were hits and are classics.
Love that song!!
But my choice is The Proclaimers, 500 Miles.

As a kid I learned what haver meant. My parents hung around a bunch of Scots.

Its My Life
Pictures of Matchstick Men
No Rain
Walking in Memphis
Kayleigh
Safety Dance
Magnet and Steel
Thunder Island
Turn the Beat Around
Take a Letter Maria
Drift Away
Street of Dreams
Undercover Angel
Lonely Boy
I Got a Line on You
“Everyone knows its Windy”

“The Association.” Not a one hit wonder. Remember this one?
Along Comes Mary

As a huge Marillion fan myself, I didn’t think “Kayleigh” charted here in the US.
Tony Cary. A Fine Fine Day (for a Reunion). 1984
Find one more obscure than that one...
I will admit I LOVE that version. Much more than the original
The guy is a sicko in videos and on-stage but on talk shows or call ins he actually sounds pretty intelligent and well-spoken
Frank Zappa - Valley Girl (his only Top 40 hit)
