SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – Sept. 25 is National One-Hit Wonder Day! A day where we can celebrate those songs that topped the charts but then their performers faded away from the music scene. "Thelma Houston & The Pressure Cooker" made an audiophile album on Sheffield Records. It was "Direct Cut" to the master - no tape - and each side was one continuous take.
The studio "band" included A-listers - Larry Carlton, Dean Parks, Larry Knechtel, Jim Gordon, Jim Keltner, etc
Sonically, it was beyond extraordinary - incredible transparency & earth shattering dynamics....then and still does to this day.
Musically, it REALLY rocked!!!!
