I think they may have had a warrant for his arrest, not just a search. But whatever, they announced their presence and didn’t just charge through the door.

The boyfriend shot first, and only one of the officers (the one charged) shot back. He’s being charged with endangerment because the shots could have hit someone in another apartment.

I thought it was a pretty reasonable solution, and hopefully a jury will let the cop off because he was not the first to fire.

I’m not pro-fire at random, and I think cops do need to restrain themselves if possible. But as one said to me, in certain situations you know that only one person is going home...and you want it to be you.
