The Death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg: Left Now Will Pay Price for Turning Courts into Political Battlefield
The American Spectator ^ | September 19,2o020 | Doug Bandow

Posted on 09/20/2020 5:01:48 AM PDT by goodn'mad

As news of the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg spread, the left-wing twittersphere exploded. Ginsburg was widely seen as single-handedly holding back the blood-thirsty reactionary Trump-crazy hordes. The Independent’s Holly Baxter lamented: “Sometimes it felt like she was America’s last hope.” Ginsburg’s passing loosed fear, frustration, anger, and defiance among the liberal legions.

I have a little different take here about praising her after her death and it’s a little more positive. Even though she is obviously liberal you can’t overlook her friendship with Scalia as an indicator of her ‘old-fashioned’ liberalism, as opposed to today’s progressive ass-clowns. Just like those of us who watched the original Crossfire with Buchanan and Braden, knowing that when the lights went off they were good friends.

My life intersected twice with hers, although we never met. When she was a teenager she went to sleepaway camp at Che-Na-Wah, on Balfour Lake in upstate NY and I went to Balfour Lake Camp about 800 yards away . . and I always thought that was pretty interesting.

But the biggest by far was that my Dad and her husband were fraternity brothers (AEPi) and they stayed friendly for many years, until his death. Her husband was a close friend of Ross Perot. I never got to meet her but my folks did get together once in a while for dinner before his death in 2010.

We don’t need to piss on anyone’s grave right now. If her friendship with Scalia isn’t enough to do that I can’t help you. We can fight strongly for the vacancy wihtout doing that.

“....Not people with whom you have political disagreement.“

.... Is that how you refer to the wholesale slaughter of unborn innocent lives, as a simple political disagreement? Shame on you.

How dare you try to shame for something I never stated.
Your irreverent statements define you, not me.....
The context of my statement was couched in whether eulogizing RBG in her death was proper.....
I stated that it was proper in relation to her family.....
That places me in agreement with President Trump and not you....
I’ll take his company over yours any day....

She was terrible. But I do appreciate that she was fiercely loyal to her husband even when they first married. He got cancer and she had him dictate his work to her and she typed it up. This while she also was in law school and having two children. I mean even black hearts have to find that impressive.

There are many, many women who make sacrifices for their husbands. This does not make Ginsburg more special or her acts particularly more impressive than those unknown women.

Indeed, There are also many women who make sacrifices for their family AND their country. Women who are not two-faced shills.

I guess you don’t consider abortion murder?

If you do your last two sentences contradict one another.

“That is reserved for evil, scum sucking career criminals.”

Supreme Court Justices who champion murdering the unborn and every type of sexual perversion for decades don’t count as career criminals.

The only differences between RBG, Sotomeyer and the rest of their ilk and the old mafia Dons?
The black robed tyrants did their evil under color of law and the Dons wore nicer clothes.

If she wanted to guarantee that she was replaced by a liberal, she should have resigned during Obama’s eight years. As a 70-something repeat cancer survivor, no one would fault her for saying health reasons. She was arrogant and selfish, probably determined to be on the board when Obgerfell came through.

I hate the turning her into a tin saint. Its like she could heal the sick and make the blind see. She did some good things but many partisan acts. In the end she should have resigned and let Obama pick one of his hacks. But she thought Hillary was going to win...mistake. Trump’s replacement will be Borked and Kavanaughed by the Liberals. Their claws are out and what they do will only help Trump.

You hoist the petard of Christianity yet your rhetoric speaks otherwise....
Your attempt at logic is grossly flawed....
How you can conflate a eulogy with being pro abortion is astounding.....
Not only is your logic flawed but your moral compass is askew....

RBG was a ‘rubber stamp’ for all things ‘progressive’.
The amoral degenerates loved her because she was their ‘rubber stamp’.

I get the political calculus employed by the Republicans, “Handle RBG with kid gloves so as not to give the dems anymore ammunition than necessary nor to alienate women voters.” OK, so far, so good. But when I’ve watched Fox TV, which is supposedly conservative, for two days with almost no word at all about her far-left voting agenda nor the negative impact that someone like her has had upon this nation, then I have to conclude that the coverage is far out of balance.

Ok, I’ll bite. By “him” you mean President Trump? “Neither you” is referencing me? The RBG portion was fairly clear....

Is that what you meant?

If so, when did I declare President Trump, myself or RBG heroes?

Or do just randomly type word scrabble at your keyboard?

Hitler was a murderer. He was assisted by many others.

Abortion is murder. RBG was a major proponent as well as a judicial activist for abortion. She never hid her disdain for the United States.

If Hitler doesn’t get a pass you explain why RGB should.

Notice in my previous post and this one there are no personal attacks toward you.

My apologies Roman Nine.....
My post 51 to you was intended for Freeper Semaj ...
I’m virulently anti-abortion but I also try to maintain my humanity. A part of that is not speaking ill of the dead immediately after their death when their family is mourning.....
RBG’s legacy will not sit well over time, she will not remember as a trailblazer but a Politically activist hack in black robes...
I’m thrilled RBG’s seat is now vacant and that President Trump will fill it...
Roe vs Wade may finally be addressed properly...
