Well, with all the “ur” and other modern short hands, twitter has become an exercise in pidgin English.

Just read up on this - pidgin is a combination of one language known by the speaker, and another that they are trying to speak. Children who grow up speaking pidgin expand the pidgin into a creole with more sophisticated rules and many more words. We think of pidgin English, but there are pidgin versions of other languages as well.
