Yeah. I know. I had a science teacher in high school that worked fire-fighting in the summers during college. He said that setting fires was pretty much just job security. That would have been in the 60s. Not all Antifa types are soi bois. Its dangerous to believe that they are. Fire fighters are often college aged men. Its hard, dangerous work. Dont think for a minute that there arent alpha male lefties. And the Forest Service is full of lefties.

Accelerants are not needed to start fires. Im in the coastal fog belt, and things were frighteningly dry last week. East wind, humidity less than 10% at times. Much of Oregon timber country is spotted with tinder-dry piles of logging slash. It sits there in the sun all summer, waiting for the rainy season when it can be safely burned. Dry grass lines the roads. Someone intent on setting the woods ablaze wouldnt have to do much.
Chainsaws in Oregon are kinda like spare tires. If youre out in the woods, its good to have one. In some areas, people are required to carry axes and shovels for putting out small fires. Its just the reality of timber country.
