The New Orleans Saints are looking to set themselves apart from the run-of-the-mill social justice message of Black Lives Matter. The team is launching a #SayHerName campaign that focuses on black women in specific. The idea is that black women who are victims of police violence or injustice, in general, are not given the attention that is given to black males who have run-ins with law enforcement.

There’s an axiom in organization theory that goes, an organization can only do one thing well. Once a second item gets added the original purpose of the organization is compromised. Thus, schools can only educate. Once they become political organizations then education suffers. The same is true of any organization. When Starbucks only sold coffee all was well. No telling how much money they have lost because they also went woke. Maybe they are still growing, but likely at a slower rate than if they had just stayed with coffee and held the racial equality lecture.
