USSS with Obama has crossed my mind as well. I have met a handful of agents in my life and at the time they seemed to be Patriots.

Knowing what I know now, I have questioned myself about those acquaintances. They are no longer in my social scope but can’t help wondering if some, at least one, was complicit. (The one was a devotee of Bush41. I just think he had to know.)

Patriotism can be subjective.

Convince a man that what he thinks and does is patriotic, and he considers himself a patriotic.

Look at the noise that comes out of the mouths of the Hillarys and Obamas of the world. What they do, they do for love of the people, the country, and 'our democracy'.

Their minions consider themselves patriots. Antifa considers itself a patriotic movement. They think THEY are saving America from the fascists.

As do the derps of the derp state. Read their texts and emails. They considered Trump a threat to their America.

These people are not immune to their sense of false patriotism. Secret Service agents, by definition hyper patriots, were they convinced that some action was patriotic, no matter what it was, can be seduced.

There was one, female, USSS agent that said she would not step in front of a bullet for Trump if he were to become POTUS.
Obviously, there are those that might prefer one over the other.
And, at least one REALLY STUPID one.
