Sports popularity has tanked as much as the political left news the sports leaders are imitating.

My sports viewing as of late has consisted of Australian Rules Football and Japanese Baseball. Where I know nobody is going to kneel for the Star Spangled Banner.
I will occasionally check MLB box scores to see if my friend’s nephew got an at-bat. Won’t be paying any attention to the NFL this season as my relative who played there had to retire due to injury.
Never did watch the NBA. Ditching the NHL hurts though. Canadians delivering snotty political lectures to us is a particular pet-peeve of mine though.

Grown men (many now tattooed & pierced thugs), getting dirty rich for playing with a ball with other rich, grown men, and other men and women getting rich for talking about the rich, grown men that play with balls...thats pro sports.
Precious few role models among them now.
And how many American men know more about pro sports than about their childrens schools or neighbors or county government?
And I pay more for beer and pizza because they pay a lot to advertise on pro sports shows.

This morning the local Houston News talking heads (KPRC Channel 2) were gushing over the fact that Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, who used to avoid talking about politics and religion is now going to be a vocal force for change. He could no longer keep silent after George Floyd. Tonight is their first game of the NFL season. I
will not be glued to my set watching.
Well, I may be glued to my set, but I won't be watching football (ever again).

Glad to hear it. It gives us all hope that maybe Americans are more patriotic and not as stupid as I thought.

It should be interesting the next time a team demands a new stadium or arena or else they will leave town. Hopefully, the citizens of the threatened city responds like Cromwell to the Rump Parliament: “You have sat too long for any good you have been doing lately ... Depart, I say; and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!”

I have no interest in watching groups of highly paid men fighting over a ball and then telling me I’m racist. There’s enough propaganda on tv, in print, on the web, and on the radio. I don’t need any more.

I stated something like this awhile back to others, with just a bit of sarcasm:
“I never thought I’d say/type these words, but Thank you China for helping to destroy the four institutions I most-despise:
Hollywood, Academia, Professional Sports & the Democratic Party.”
If we can salvage what remains, I hazard an opinion that it may very well have been worth those results.
