HHs one of the greats, says USA Today columnist Nancy Armour.
Kaepernick started kneeling for the national anthem in 2016, saying he couldnt stand in support of a flag that represents a country so oppressive to black people.
Kaepernick was nominated as a Contributor by Bob Birkett of Vermont, who was upset that he couldn't get Kaepernick a starting qb spot but figured out he could nominate him to the Hall of Fame.
Birketts letter said that, Mr. Kaepernick has shown exceptional courage in highlighting the damaging effects of racial injustice on black people and on our society as a whole. His respectful kneeling posture has created a powerful symbol for those who are oppressed by our society.
Armour backed that view, writing, Its hard to argue that Kaepernick, who sacrificed his career because he wanted to make his country better, doesnt at least deserve a debate.
It's hard to argue that Kaepernick didn't make waves in the NFL. Many fans have left the sport since the social justice warriors and virtue signaling took over. But did he do anything positive for the sport?
Kaepernicks on-field performance would not draw any consideration from Hall of Fame voters. His career touchdown passes (72) and passing yards (12,271) rank 174th and 167th, respectively, in league history. His record as a starter was a subpar 28-30.
The NFL Hall of Fame will soon be as meaningless as the nominations for a Nobel Peace Prize.
If he gets in then they will lose what fans they have left. What is next Tom Brady excluded from HOF because of his White Privilege?
They are going to be as bad w/o credibility like the Rock N Roll HOF
Perhaps a job as an Usher at the Hall of Fame. Otherwise he does not qualify.
I haven’t seen any support from his white parents, don’t think they are very proud of him now.
Of course he should be King of football.
It’s just like nominating Hillary Clinton to the Beauty Queen Hall of Fame, isn’t it?
NFL marketing division came up with a brilliant solution to all the fans they lost over the kneeling debacle.
This would be the only interesting thing to happen in the NFL all season.
The only reason Kaepernick should be mentioned in the hall of fame is because HE is the one who Killed the NFL.
Jerk
Geez... that’s a whole lot like Obama winning a Nobel Prize for doing absolutely nothing, isn’t it?
Oooof. Theres a handsome dude.
Not to defend “The Juice” he didn’t do his crime while he was an active player. It was 10+ years after hel left the league.
OTOH...the NFL is dead. It has destroyed itself
famous for what ? being awful? or just for sucking D*^K?
The Nazi pigs in the media are trying to piss off conservatives. Send the Nazi media pigs notes in the mail that they’re about to be rounded up for treason and sent to Gitmo.
I think that the external crap should not be a part of the consideration. But even if you DO think Kaepernick is a modern day Jackie Robinson, you need to give it the benefit of time to put it into proper perspective. And, on top of that, Mr. Kaepernick is a highly divisive element among even your most dedicated, paying fans.
Stop the G.D. virtue signalling already...
He could be the last entry into the Hall of Fame, as the one who officially killed the NFL.
There is fame and infamy. If there is a national hall of infamy Kapernick gets my vote! He has done more to ruin pro sports than any one I know!
The Fools Hall of Fame, perhaps. Not the NFL.
Because I hate the corruption which is the NFL.
