A virus emerged from China. China lied about it. That cost many lives in Italy. That led to an overreaction in parts of the US and terrible policies from some Democrat governors which cost many American lives. The Democrats politicized the virus and attempted to weaponize it against President Trump by overhyping it. It’s not harmless (R0 of 2.5 and IFR of 0.65% are nothing to sneeze at), but it is also not the existential threat they’ve tried desperately to make it out to be. President Trump did everything possible to support the states to preserve American lives, and he launched a wonderful effort to accelerate the development and production of safe and effective vaccines to end the whole thing once and for all. He’s about to succeed in that effort and the timing is fortuitous, as it’s perfect for the October surprise to help him win reelection.
