We were at a friend’s house yesterday and one woman said she isn’t sure who she is going to vote for. She says she voted for Trump last time around, but is uncertain today.

I could not believe my ears. I tried to explain to her what’s going on, but all she could fixate on was Trump’s lies and uncouthness.

I said I keep hearing about Trump’s 20,000 lies. Could you please tell me ONE lie he has told us? Dead silence. I pressed that and she could not respond with a single “lie.” I was shocked at what I heard and saw from her.

I need to memorize a 30 second “elevator pitch” for people like that. I tend to get hot under the collar too quickly when I encounter people like that and need to learn to tone it down, keep it under control, and develop a solid pitch that does the job and closes the deal.

I spent some time explaining to her the background to BLM which she had not heard, but I think she categorized me as some insane right wing conspiracy kook.
