To: ransomnote

And I have no sound. This was labeled as a PC and Monitor bundle. I thought it would have every thing. Apparently it needs speakers? Tried some speakers from old computer-no joy.

Just a thought. If I were troubleshooting your problem the first thing that jumps out at me is the fact that if the monitor is using HDMI than the audio is passed through the same cable as the video signal. It is possible that the loose connection might be the culprit.

I would also check to confirm that the audio settings are configured properly, although they should work right out of the box.

Old speakers should work, I wonder why not. Might you have plugged them into the microphone port? I do that accidentally sometimes.
