At least at high frequency (2.45 GHz Bluetooth), a microwave oven is not an effective Faraday shield, which you'll find if you Google microwave oven and Faraday shield. All microwave ovens leak, but not enough to harm people.
What was surprising to me is that the RF frequency used by microwave ovens is exactly the frequency used by Bluetooth: 2.45 GHz. No wonder Bluetooth is so fricking unreliable. It's also very close to the standard WiFi frequency of 2.4 GHZ, which is why microwave ovens often interfere with WiFi.

My late dad almost got thrown out of the "independent living" section of his retirement home for something like that. He brought some leftovers home from a fish and chips restaurant. They had kindly written on the blank newsprint: "Reheat for 10 minutes at 350 degrees."
He put it in the microwave for 10 minutes. Smoke, fire, fire alarm, fire department, destroyed microwave oven. Fortunately, no one was injured and there was no property damage other than the microwave oven.
I love this guy for a couple of reasons.. (1) I lived in a nearby town and would pass his home daily (albeit completely ignorant of his heroism). (2) His legacy completely discredits the 1619 narrative. (3) Dude was from New Hampshire and we elected him to office.

Wentworth Cheswell was a teacher, auditor, assessor, selectman, and Justice of the Peace in New Hampshire. When he was elected town Constable of Newmarket, New Hampshire in 1768, he became the second person of African ancestry, after Mathias de Sousa of the Maryland colony, to be elected to public office in what would become the United States.
