Baseball is still above the line. For now. ...but the rest, a lifetime of apathy.
Give it up.
I’m almost 30 years into my sports ban. I still fish... and golf (mostly buckets of driving range balls nowadays), stay in shape & stuff like that.
I have seen 2 live MLBs - Nats vs Giants at RFK... and I saw Cal Ripkin 2 games away from breaking his consecutive streak.
I tried the MLB channel a few years ago, but who has time for that? Maybe the barkeep at the VFW... perhaps.
Bits and pieces of sports roundups... but that’s been 9 or 10 years ago.
I dunno, life got busy... and I got p.o.’d by the commercialism and later on the politics.
But... I have drawn the line in the sand
I still am impressed by PBR, Shinty, Darts, PBA and sports fails. I don’t understand cricket and although I’ll kick a “futball” from time to time, my proficiency at foot dribbling alludes me. In my youth I mastered tetherball during recess. I also enjoy tossing around the frisbee. Cornhole is boring. Table tennis anyone?
Baseball fell well below the line last week when they cancelled games in protest. %@#^ you Dom Smith, you Jack Wagon.
If you must watch, the next best thing is there are tons of ways to stream the games for free. This way they get no money.
Also Don't buy any merchandise and make sure you have an adblocker for any sport site/blog you visit that supported this nonsense.
