and what comes up is that most agree the section of the statute is poorly written.
If they (Wisc. Supreme Court - cause that’s where this is going) decide it’s 16, he skates on everything.
If not, regardless of anything else, I think Kyle gets whacked for a misdemeanor under this statute for not being 18.
The weapon was already in wisconsin so whoever lent the rifle to Kyle probably gets whacked for a Class H felony.

Should be—there actually may have been some previous cases where that statute was discussed and decided in lower or appellate/state supreme court.
If I still had access to a law library, I’d go look for it, but I don’t. Will have to wait to see how it goes.
Kyle was actually with an older adult guarding that site. I saw the adult go up to him when he was talking to a reporter telling that there were some people that needed help. That may have been when he got separated from them and wasn’t allowed to return.
I do recall reading early on that he was OK if an adult was with him. So I don’t know if that helps him-since police wouldn’t let him go back, and they didn’t take his gun, looks like they would have, because he looked so young?
