He was 17 - not sure what he was doing with a long gun.
Secondly - He was out during a curfew. Also put himself in the position to get into trouble.
That said, he was retreating. He was assaulted a couple of times even before he tripped in the middle of the street and assaulted by a couple of dudes.
The 17 year old will have a long road through the court system and will likely dole out $20K or more in defense.

That young man is someone’s son and his parents have every right to be proud of him, IMHO. Worried but proud. He was willing to go “stand in the gap” “while we stand still”. I’m sure the Kenosha DemocRATS will persecute him to high heaven but I’m sure he will get good legal representation and will be found to have acted in self defense.
As soon as I see a fundraising effort for him, I’ll contribute. He deserves it!

Speaking in defense of this kid and urging all to be tough for the winter is not hypocritical the way you are implying. If someone is comfortable when typing that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been uncomfortable in the past or won’t be in the future. This young man needs to hear from many that we support him.
As mentioned legal support as well as financial and psychological (praise, prayer, defending him publicly) are all valuable and those offering that support are doing the right thing.

1,200 Antifa/BLM marched through my small town twice and were met by armed men standing before their homes and businesses. The marches passed through quickly and quietly.

I wonder if it is just talk and blustering and people will give in and submit when forced into a corner. It is different when you are shooting at people or being shot at.
