Cal Fire crews are building more confidence in getting the upper hand on the CZU fire, but despite their best efforts, evacuation orders are likely to remain in place for several days.
“Over the course of the next 72-120 hours that’s anywhere from four to five days out. We will look hopefully of bringing some sort of normalcy back to the area. Obviously it’s all dependent on the weather conditions," said Incident Commander Billy See at the 6 a.m. fire briefing on Wednesday.
Advertisement Crews are staging along Felton Empire Grade Road, in Felton, to begin a burnout operation Tuesday afternoon. It’s the same tactic used a couple of days ago in the same area and will allow fire crews to create a containment line.
Like everything else during the CZU Lightning Complex, it all comes down to whether the winds remain favorable.
Cal Fire hopes to restore power in Davenport Tuesday but did not give a timetable when residents can return.

Saratoga is really nice.

Wifey, kittehs & I are still holed up in a hotel in Morgan Hill, CA
Apart from the crappy intarweb connection it’s pretty nice. Some relatives contributed extra hotel credits for us to use, which effectively makes this a free week’s stay.
Looking forward to being home in 4-5 days (in time for the next wave of power outages) < |:)~

Arizona air quality remains cruddy because of the CA fires. Though it makes for amazing sunsets.
